There is a lot here about the dangers and downfalls of being foolish, arrogant, and lazy. I was really intrigued by verses 18-19. A lot of us say, text, or post some pretty mean and sarcastic things and then smooth it all over by saying, texting, or typing "just kidding" (or more often j/k). These verses strongly warn against that kind of behavior comparing to someone going crazy and on a shooting spree. That's pretty strong language, but brings us back to the importance of our words. Yes, there is time and place for joking but we really should think about what we say,text,or type BEFORE we do it. J/K sounds cool, I guess, but it really does very little to soften the blow of cutting someone down. Even if the person seems to take it, you can never take back those statements.
