Proverbs 4
There is a temptation to kind of speed read over Proverbs because a lot of the chapters sound similar. But, pay attention because wisdom is important, we can know a lot about God, a lot about "dos" and "donts" but wisdom helps to put those things into practice and helps keeps us out of evil. Evil is not always clear and in a big red suit saying "Im evil, Im evil." It is often masked or appears over time, we need wisdom to recognize and avoid the path of evil.
vv. 23-25 are really crucial to this chapter and to the idea of being wise. In this writing "heart" means the whole package of the way we think (intellect) and feel(emotions). To guard it is to not give it away to everthing or everybody. How do we do that?
