Proverbs 14 (click here)

Proverbs 14

We see here again that there are benefits to wisdom and extreme disadvantages to foolishness. This may seem simple, but the enemy of this world is constantly presenting us with an easy way out, a quick solution, and playing to our selfish desires. We must pray for eyes to see the big picture, that is what discernment is. The gift, the ability to find wisdom even when it is not abundantly apparent to us. Two verses really stuck out to me here.
  • Verse 12 We can get to a point where we think we have life figured out. We make quick decisions, go with our feelings alone, and just do whatever looks right. God calls us to pause, wait, and seek His counsel in EVERY decision and life choice.

  • Verse 29 Patience is a difficult thing and even kind of scary to pray for, but it is essential to wise living. God gives us what we need and sometimes what we want on His time table because He knows what is best. There are a lot of things and desires that we want now and we make a big mistake when we go out and get it on our own. Patience allows us to take life as it comes and handled it calmly and wisely. We also need to learn to be patient with others. Sometimes we want people to change for the better, long before they are really ready to do that. We must pray, be a righteous example, and help them along the way. I know a lot of you are in the middle of some really difficult situations my prayer for you is that you will hold on, do whatever God is telling you to do today and that all of us would...
