In this chapter Paul is explaining the free gift of salvation using a very familiear story, that of Abraham, to make his point. If it were possible for us to work for salvation, Paul states, then God would be under obligation to give it to us just as an employer is obligated to pay a working employee.

What does the phrase "credited to him as rightousness mean." ?
