The Pharisees knew just enough about Jesus to be completely wrong about Him. Even when Nicodemus, who had sought Him out in Ch. 3, tried to at least get his fellow pharisees to talk with Christ they just dismissed him. They argued that the Messiah must come from the line of David and out of Bethelehem, but Jesus was from Galilee. Even just a simple investigation would have revealed that Jesus through Joseph was in fact out of the line of David and was born in Bethlehem. The were dead set on rejecting Jesus and did exactly that except for Nicodemus who we will see again at Jesus' death. Many of us make up our minds about Christ without ever having a conversation with Him. Read the Word and pray, for believers it is a precious gift to be able to converse with the King of Kings. Now don't go looking for what you want to hear but be open to the reality that Christ is moving and wants to include you. Get to know Jesus, all of Him and....
