v.43 really stuck out to me. Evidently some of the Jewish leaders believed Jesus' message and testimony about Himself, yet they refused to be vocal witnesses because in their mind it was better to be praised by men (liked) than praised by God (blessed).
- In what ways do we choose the praise of men over the praise of God?
- Why does it seem better in the short term to be liked (men) than to be blessed (God)?
- Whaat are the long term benefits of people's approval and the long term benefits of God's approval?
It's important to note that seeking God's approval doesn't mean making sure people don't like you, some will and hopefully there will be people who encourage you to seek God. But the point is that seeking the praise of God should be our primary goal. Everything else is secondary. Have a blessed day and...
go live,
